Phillips Lytle Welcomes Four New Attorneys

New attorneys join firm’s Litigation Practice Group

Buffalo, N.Y. — Phillips Lytle LLP announced the hiring of four new attorneys in its Litigation Practice Group across various office locations over the last four months. These appointments bolster Phillips Lytle’s Litigation Teams in the Buffalo, Chicago and New York City markets.

“Over the past two years, we have hired more than 40 new attorneys across multiple practice groups and office locations,” said Douglas W. Dimitroff, Managing Partner for Phillips Lytle. “The firm has seen tremendous growth, not only in the number of attorneys, but in the volume of client work coming into the firm. We will continue to focus on recruiting the very best talent in order to provide our clients with the highest level of client service.”

The newly appointed attorneys, listed alphabetically alongside their title and office location, include:

Hannah E. Amundsen joins Phillips Lytle as an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. She focuses her practice on commercial litigation, life sciences and health effects, product liability and toxic torts. Hannah received her J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Stefan W. Engelhardt is a special counsel in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, representing life sciences companies, manufacturers, financial institutions and national corporations in breach of contract, bankruptcy, commercial and consumer fraud, antitrust and product liability matters. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, and his B.A. from Hamilton College.

Maria Althea “Thea” M. Teves joins the firm as an associate in the Litigation Practice Group. Thea concentrates her practice on commercial litigation, white collar investigations and cybersecurity. In her prior role at a law firm in the Philippines, Thea was involved in congressional hearings in aid of legislation, including investigations pertaining to the national elections and amendments to the Philippine Constitution. She received her LL.M. from Columbia University Law School, her J.D. from University of the Philippines College of Law and her B.A. from Ateneo de Manila University.

Tyler J. Gately joins the firm as an associate in the Litigation Practice Group. Tyler concentrates his practice on business litigation in addition to providing counsel in appellate, class action and government investigations. He received his J.D. from University at Buffalo School of Law and his B.S. from University at Buffalo.
