Phillips Lytle LLP Partner John G. Schmidt Jr. has been elected to the Board of Directors of Donate Life New York State (NYS) for a two-year term effective January 1, 2024.
Donate Life NYS is dedicated to increasing organ, eye and tissue donation in New York State, with its vision to provide a transplant for every New Yorker in need. Members of the board of directors serve as an ambassador for the organization, with responsibilities that include, but not limited to, actively participating in defining and implementing the organization’s strategic vision and plans for the future; developing policies, procedures and regulations for operation of the organization; monitoring and evaluating Donate Life NYS finances, programs and performance; partnering with the executive director to advance the organization’s mission, among many others.
John is a partner at Phillips Lytle and co-leader of the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Team. He is involved in various civic organizations in the Western New York community, serves on many committees in various bar associations and legal organizations, and is a frequent presenter on litigating business disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, workplace fraud and legal ethics.
