Buffalo, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Managing Partner Kevin M. Hogan has been appointed to the Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) Board of Directors. VLP provides free civil legal services to low income individuals and small not-for-profits in Western New York.
For nearly 30 years, VLP has been committed to its dual mission to provide quality, free civil legal services for low income people and smaller not-for-profit groups, and effectively involve volunteers in the delivery of those services. During that same time span, over 2,500 attorneys have represented more than 100,000 clients on a pro bono basis, with VLP staff and volunteers representing over 55,000 clients.
Phillips Lytle attorneys are committed to providing pro bono services each year. Over the past five years, the firm has dedicated over 17,000 hours on over 140 pro bono matters.
In addition to his role as Managing Partner, Mr. Hogan concentrates his practice in the areas of environmental law, intellectual property and litigation. He counsels clients on environmental compliance with respect to investigations and enforcement proceedings by state and federal agencies, and on environmental issues arising in corporate and commercial transactions.
An experienced litigator with a track record of successfully resolving disputes, Mr. Hogan defends clients in environmental cost recovery claims, toxic exposure lawsuits, and engineering and professional malpractice claims. He also represents clients in disputes involving patents, licenses, trademarks and other intellectual property. Mr. Hogan is a skilled negotiator who also serves as a court-designated mediator in the Western District of New York.
