Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Anna Mercado Clark Named to Fellows of the American Bar Foundation

New York, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Anna Mercado Clark has been named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. The Foundation is an independent, nonprofit national research institute established in 1952 that aims to expand knowledge and advance justice by supporting innovative, interdisciplinary and rigorous empirical research on law, legal processes and legal institutions. The Fellows comprise a global honorary society of attorneys, judges, law faculty and legal scholars whose public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession and to the welfare of their communities.

Membership in the Fellows is limited to one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Fellows are recommended by their peers and elected by the Board of the American Bar Foundation. Established in 1955, Fellows support the research of the American Bar Foundation through annual contributions and sponsor seminars and events of direct relevance to the legal profession.

As leader of Phillips Lytle’s Data Security & Privacy and e-Discovery & Digital Forensics Practice Teams, Ms. Clark focuses on complex e-discovery and digital forensics, cybersecurity and data privacy, and complex commercial litigation. Ms. Clark has been awarded the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) designation by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), a preeminent certification for advanced concentration in European data protection laws, standards and practices. As a former Assistant District Attorney, she also handles white collar criminal matters and investigations.

Ms. Clark is a founding member of the Filipino American Lawyers Association of New York, a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Diversity Champion Award Selection Committee, and has been a member of the Asian American Bar Association of New York’s trial reenactment team for over a decade. She was the 2018 recipient of the Honorable Denny Chin ’78 Fordham Law Alumni Award for Excellence in the Legal Profession in 2018, named among Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 17th Annual Women Worth Watching®, and was named to the Lawyers of Color’s Inaugural Nation’s Best List in 2019. She currently serves as a member of the National Filipino American Lawyers Association Advisory Board.
