New York, N.Y. – Phillips Lytle LLP Partner Anna Mercado Clark, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, FIP, participated as an instructor for the Opening Statements and Direct Examinations morning panel for the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY) Annual Trial Advocacy Program (TAP) presented by the organization’s Litigation Committee on February 5, 2022. Ms. Clark will also be serving as a mock judge for the morning session’s small group workshop.
Started in 2012, AABANY TAP provides participants with the chance to conduct their own opening and closing statements and direct and cross-examinations, all while receiving valuable feedback from experienced faculty members. Participants are assigned a partner, receive the course materials in advance to thoroughly review and prepare for TAP on their own and with their partners prior to the day of the program. TAP also includes morning and afternoon panels on effective trial advocacy featuring distinguished and experienced litigators.
Ms. Clark will be joined on the panel by Judge James R. Cho, federal magistrate judge with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and Patricia Astorga, general counsel of the Mintz Group.
As an experienced litigator, Ms. Clark can identify and minimize litigation risks and assist with internal investigations, including managing digital forensic investigations. She seamlessly serves as litigation counsel in the event of a dispute or government investigation, having represented individuals, small businesses, multinational corporations and government entities in contract disputes, franchisor-franchisee litigation, trade secret disputes, antitrust litigation, securities litigation, labor and employment matters, and government investigations.
Ms. Clark also has years of experience in dealing with cybersecurity issues and is a frequent speaker at international conferences. She is the leader of both the Data Security & Privacy and E-Discovery & Digital Forensics Practice Teams at Phillips Lytle, where she also focuses on complex e-discovery and digital forensics, cybersecurity and data privacy and complex commercial litigation.
